The Challenge: USAA is a storied and very loyal military brand. Having had a background in the Navy, the agency looked to me to help build a stronger relationship across our digital properties. Internally, USAA had a very aggressive approval process, so the work had to get it right quickly, or else we'd lose time to market.
The Solution: Looking across all products – and doubling down on my own experience as a sailor – we worked closely with the traditional and television teams inside the company. We took an aggressive stance to deliver a massive amount of ads to feed Facebook, got immensely personal when we helped promote the USAA-sponsored Army/Navy game via a Snapchat engagement (details below), and managed the digital display work and their organic Facebook feed in unique ways. It resulted in a Facebook business case study and a sustained relationship with the agency.
Role: Creative leader in all digital and social, animation direction
